Paris was our last stop, from June 1 to June 5. We arrived by train from Heidleberg. Much time was spent at the Louvre, inside and out, and the Musée d’Orsay, but it’s never enough. We also did a lot of walking, and took a driving tour that included Montmartre and Sacré-Coeur. We even visited the Paris sewers (there's a museum). . . briefly.
Above: The Louvre, with I.M. Pei’s glass pyramid entrance. More shots of The Louvre at night on later pages. Right: The Arc de Triomphe, on the Champs-Elysées, with a tourist in the foreground, before climbing to join the people you can just see on the top.
Above: An actual person at a sidewalk cafe, with a sure sense of style—Toulouse-Lautrec would be proud. Left: One of the base pillars of the Eiffel Tower, from the first platform, and people waiting to go up. On this occasion, we opted for the elevator, rather than climb the 1,655 steps to the top.
